  • Q: What are the different colors for HID kits?

    3000k - Golden Yellow produces an eye-catching deep yellow

    5000k - Factory White is the classic choice comparable to OEM

    6000k - Intense White is the brightest white bulb with a hint of blue

    8000k - Icy Blue combines styling and performance

    10000k - Deep Blue has a rich blue output

  • Q: What is the difference between a Hi/Lo kit and a Bi-Xenon kit?

    A Hi/Lo kit converts the low beam to HID while high beam stays as halogen. A Bi-Xenon kit converts both low beam and high beam to HID with one single bulb that shifts upward when is switched to high beam. This upward shift in the Bi-Xenon bulb creates a further light projection to increase visibility. For most vehicles the Hi/Lo HID kits are highly recommended since most car owners use only the low beams for everyday driving. Shop by bulb type here.

    What does each HID kit consist of?

    Each kit comes with 2 bulbs, 2 ballasts, and all the necessary wiring accessories for a complete plug-and-play installation.

  • Q: What is the differnce between the different HID ballasts we carry?

    Signature Series (35w): Standard size ballast with 35 watts going to the HID bulb.

    Power Series (55w): Provides 20% more wattage to the HID bulb, which provides 30-40% more brightness than the 35w HID kit.

    Stealth Series (35w): Slim ballast, which is about half the size of a regular ballast and is also 35w. Frequently used for vehicles that are more compact in the engine area for easier installation.

    Volt CANBUS Series (35w): Our top-of-the-line HID ballast has the most advanced built-in components that will eliminate any issues a vehicle’s computer system may have with aftermarket HID. This ballast has built-in cancellers that also help with flickering issues that some vehicles may experience. This CANBUS ballast produces the light output (lumens) almost equivalent to 55w while only using 35w, with quality equivalent to an OEM ballast. A very high quality HID kit, recommended for all years, makes, and vehicle models. We recommend this ballast for all new 2013/2014 vehicles.

    Pro CANBUS Series (55w): This ballast has everything the Volt CANBUS has, PLUS it’s a 55w ballast, like our 55w Power Series. Our top-of-the-line HID ballast with the most advanced built-in components will eliminate any issues a vehicle’s computer system may have with aftermarket HID. This ballast also has built-in cancellers and will also help with flickering issues that some vehicles may experience. The CANBUS ballast also produces the light output (lumens) of 4200, and the quality of the ballast is equivalent to an OEM ballast. A very high quality HID Kit recommend for all years, makes, and vehicle models. We recommend this ballast for all new 2013/2014/2015 vehicles.

  • Q: If my vehicle has factory HIDs, can I use HIDeXtra's HID kit?

    Since you have factory HID, our aftermarket HID kit doesn’t directly plug into your vehicle’s power harness. If you’re only replacing the bulb, you can simply swap the bulb, but if you are changing the ballast you will need to cut and splice the wire in order to hook up our ballast to your vehicle. Our D2R/D2S HID kit includes two bulbs and two ballasts (built-in igniter) along with all the wiring you need for installation. We do not recommend replacing just the bulb or the ballast because mixing and matching parts between factory and aftermarket may result in improper functionality of the HID kit.

  • Q: What issues are common with Dodge vehicles?

    We must inform you that Dodge vehicles commonly do not support aftermarket HID headlights. This is the reason for the flickering/strobing of the lights after installation due to the unstable HID output (fluctuating power sent to headlights). Dodges are equipped with computer controlled headlights that cause the dashboard computer to emit a “lights out” error message after installation.

    We have not yet found a solution for the incompatibility issues between the Dodge Ram and the Bi-Xenon HID kit; however, this is how we’ve helped our customers enjoy HID lights on their Dodge vehicles:

    All our HID kits feature plug-and-play technology which makes installation extremely easy and troubleshooting even easier. We’ve often seen that by adding a relay and pair of capacitors (learn more here), common Dodge HID issues are resolved; therefore, we highly recommend going with the Hi/Lo HID kit and purchasing a pair of capacitors and relay harnesses. Our Volt Series will eliminate any issue your Dodge’s computer system may have with aftermarket HIDs.

    Nothing at all, the device has a safety logic build-in if there is no lead-acid battery be present, you cannot execute next step.

    WHAT HAPPEN WHEN YOU HOOKUP THE BATTERY IN WRONG POLARITY OR BACKWARDS?

    Nothing at all, the device has a safety logic build-in; the beep alarm will sound and disable you to move forward to next step on boost function. Because of this feature, there is always SPARK FREEE and only when you hook up correctly then power will be delivered to lead-acid battery.

    IS THE DEVICE WATER PROOF?

    Sorry, it is not. Please use it with cautions during wet conditions. Others might claim their device is water proof but once the 12V connector is engaged, it is impossible to have a water seal unit.

    DO I NEED TO UNHOOK ANY LEAD-ACID BATTERY BEFORE I JUMP START?

    A.

    No it is unnecessary to do so. In fact, we would recommend to keep the lead acid in line to buffer off any electrical disturbances might occur during cranking of your engine.   Just hook to the positive red terminal first then negative black terminal or a good ground termination point.

    HOW MANY TIMES WILL IT CHARGER MY MOBILE PHONE OR TABLET?

    A.

    That will depend the brand of device you have. All depends on their battery size and state of its battery status. As a rule of thumb, if JUMP MONSTER starter has a 6000mAh capacity, it should charge a empty iPhone6 2-3 times.

    WHAT IS THE LIMITATION ON JUMP STARTING MAXIMUM ENGINE SIZE?

    Each of our product has a current limiting protection in place to avoid overdrawn condition that might prematurely overstress the Li-ION battery internal structure. Others might claim their product will start a large engine but this is not a safe practice as accelerated aging will result unimaginable failures. For 4000mAh starter, it is limited to start up V6 3.5L engine and 6000mAh is limited to start up to V8 5L engine.

    WHAT HAPPEN IF YOU DO USE IT ON A LARGER ENGINE?

    Don’t worry, our product is so MEGA safe, the current limiter will shut off the output and reset the device. So you can sure, it is JUMP MONSTER product.

    CAN YOU JUMP OTHER ENGINE LIKE MOTORCYCLE OR LAWN MOWER?

    Yes; as long as it is 12V system. Some the classic engines are a 6V system.

    WHAT ABOUT HYBRID ENGINE? WILL IT JUMP?

    A.

    You need to make sure the gasoline engine section has a 12V system with a 12V lead-acid. Consult your owner manual before JUMP START.

    WILL THIS WORK FOR DIESEL ENGINE?

    A.

    Most diesel engines require a much larger cranking amps in order to “turn” the engine. Our 6000mAh starter can most likely starts a 3L 6 cyl diesel with some conditions apply.

    WHAT IS OPERATING TEMPERATURE FOR THE JUMP MONSTER STARTER?

    It is recommended to operate between -20 Deg C to 50 Deg C. Outside this range the device will shut down to protect the Li-ION battery.

    It is recommended to charge between -5 Deg C to 40 Deg C. Outside this range the device will not charge until it is within range.

    It is recommended to store it between -20 Deg C to 55 Deg C. Do not exceed 80 Deg C for any reason as this will harm the Li-ION battery internal structure.

    WHAT MEANS THE MAH TO THE BATTERY POWER?

    The mAh stands for Mini Amperes Hour. For example, 2Ah equals 2000mAh. It is used to describe the battery capacity or volume.

    MY FRIEND GOT A 12.000MAH LI JUMP START. IS IT MORE POWERFUL THAN THE HYD 4000 IS?

    A.

    In fact they are both the same capacity. It is just a different way to represent the battery information. Normally, you would need 3 packs of battery at 3.7V, each Li-ION pack is 4000mAh or 3 times 4000 equals 12,000 mAh.

    THE 500 CHARGING CYCLES IS FOR BOTH HYD 4000 AND 6000 IDENTICAL ?

    The 500 charging cycles is just an average number. It is depends on the charging conditions and the way it is used during its lifetime. Both HYD4000 and HYD6000 has an average charging cycles of 500.

    WHAT IS A CYCLE RELATED TO LI IO BATTERY ?

    A.

    The cycle life is the number of complete charge/discharge cycles that the battery is able to support before that its capacity falls under 80% of its original capacity.
